If it’s possible to start a new life, it’s definitely not in winter or Monday. The new year is supposed to be the spring. And maybe at dawn.

In the spring, nature is reborn: flowers and grass grow, and green leaves appear on trees. I would like to enter a new year in the spring, i.e. to update with nature. But the feast happens when she’s dead, when it’s cold and dark.

In this project, I create insect cryptides from the dead. I go into the woods and collect fallen leaves, branches, bumps, feathers. Then I bring it all home and turn it into powder. That’s why I use the hammer and the foot. It’s a sort of ritual in which natural objects make a transition — they become cryptides.
Kryptides describes cryptosology, a science that studies species whose existence has not been officially confirmed.
Spring New Year isn’t gonna happen anytime, but with the ritual on the eve of the festival, I justify the calendar status of the day when the year changes. New species appear in the forest, nature is being renewed, which means it’s going to be a good year.
It’s a forest product. I take dead objects from nature and update them.
Here’s my piece. You can also use it:
1. Come to the forest in autumn or winter; 2. Gather the dead. choose them based on your feelings. Don’t forget that you’re an artist; 3… dry them; 4. You can leave some leaves and branches to make them mustaches, legs, and wings; 5. Add so much water to produce the material for the plaster; 6. Make back all the collected objects. Just accept that you won’t be able to do the same. you create cryptides; 7. let the creatures dry. Take care of them until they’re at home. Let them feel love; 8. on the eve of the new year return to the forest; 9. give the forest to live objects; 10. Tell your friends that you have done something important.
