A Ural city of Nizhniy Tagil. Summer is over and ten-year-old Vadim moves to a new district and attends a new school. The last warm days of September and Vadim makes his way through the last rays of the fading autumn sun. Vadim Kostrov is a young director from the Urals (a Russian region located right between Europe and Asia). He makes experimental works: almost nothing happens in them, the camera may just film a long sunset. However, this is a very personal gaze of adult Vadim Kostrov who is looking at almost unchanged locations of his childhood in Nizhny Tagil. At the same time, the viewer experiences a powerful presence effect, as if they found themselves in a completely different city for a while. Fall is a nostalgic film about walking home from school on the first day of September.
