The project is an introduction to the fictional series The Twelve Tales, which is developing around the history of the Grimm brothers: looking for and publishing fairy tales that have celebrated them for centuries. The concept of the projection is based on the idea of creating fairy tales in a storyteller’s mind — this process in a video has been implemented by means of procedural construction of geometry.

The effect of building different elements is a popular artistic solution in modern designs: such a concept gives the artist considerable freedom to work with forms and materials. The main objective of the project was to build a number of objects based on two algorithms. The technical uniqueness of the work is to create a process-based geometry design effect in Houdini.

Processing paper material, baking masks on all objects to create vomiting effects
The different stages of the video were performed using different software: the simulations were done in Maya and Zbrush, the procedural simulations and animation were performed in Houdini, the light and textures of the materials and the models were made using Houdini and Redshift, the composition was done in Nuke, and the final assembly was performed in Adobe After Effects.

In the creation of the work, various futs were used for the composer.
