Zips are one of the most common and convenient ways to fasten clothing. But they pose a serious problem for recycling.
Zips are usually made of metal or plastic and must be removed before recycling.
Unfortunately, at the moment there is no system solution for the recycling of this element, so it is necessary to develop a variety of ways in which lightning can be re-used.
The material is flexible, pliable and holds its shape well. The possibilities for creativity are endless!

Collaboration with the Second Wind Fund
In the spring of 2024, Yaroslava held a series of workshops on making jewellery from zip fasteners at the Second Wind Fund workshop, where she was able to talk about the problem of recycling the element and introduce alternative ways of using the material. The participants especially enjoyed making brooches in the shape of a flower.
