«Contemporaty Graphics in Braille» is an exhibition of graphic works from the museum’s collection, adapted for visually impaired and blind people and together with them. The exhibition is based on the originals of seven graphic works, their three-dimensional models, adapted labels in Braille and a detailed audio guide with audio descriptions.

The project «Contemporaty Graphics in Braille» reached the final of the main museum festival «Intermuseum 2017» as the best project aimed at social interaction; became the winner of the VII Regional Award in the field of public relations development «Silver Archer» in the nomination «Promotion of culture and historical heritage»; became a laureate of the Perm Territory Award in the field of culture and art in the nomination «Cultural, leisure and educational activities» in 2018.

It was important for the authors of the project to talk to visually impaired and blind people about graphics, a direction in art that is most difficult for them to access, to show works from the museum’s collection that are not exhibited on a permanent basis, and to discuss what differences exist in the languages ​​of graphics.

Dmitri Makonnen: «For the cross-cutting theme of the catalogue, we chose the visualization of touching the Braille font. The feeling of pressing on the letters. These are lines of repeating circles of varying intensity depending on the degree of sensation and pressing on the letter itself.»
